<p>In the world of efficient transportation, payload capacity is paramount, especially when dealing with heavy-duty equipment. The Landscape Group recognized this need, particularly for delivering ride-on machines weighing around 1300kg to various work sites. However, achieving the required payload with a standard chassis cab and beavertail body was a challenge.</p>

<p>This is where AKFS stepped in with a solution that not only met the payload requirement but exceeded expectations. We designed three <a href="<https://www.advanced-kfs.co.uk/vehicle/beavertail-car-transporter/>">Beavertail vehicles</a> based on front wheel drive 3500kg GVW (3.5 ton) Ford Transits, boasting a remarkable carrying capacity of 1320kg once fully fuelled and with a driver on board.</p>

<p>The vehicles, with a kerb weight of 1788kg (including the spare wheel), were meticulously engineered to maximize efficiency and functionality. AKFS integrated a unique Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) mesh on the tailgate surface to ensure optimal grip for both machinery and operatives. The tailgate was designed to be slip-resistant and full-width, offering additional safety features like working at height barriers.</p>

<p>To enhance grip during loading and unloading, a ribbed aluminium deck was incorporated into the design. The attention to detail extended to the choice of materials, utilizing lightweight aluminium for the body construction and tailgate frame, optimizing the payload without compromising durability.</p>

<p>During a period of Ford Transit stock shortages in 2014, AKFS ensured their body design could seamlessly fit mainstream chassis cabs. This flexibility allowed The Landscape Group to explore alternative base vehicles, adapting to market dynamics.</p>

<p>Currently, two out of the three vehicles are already in service and gaining popularity for their exceptional performance. The third van is eagerly awaiting commissioning, poised to join its counterparts in the field.
