In 2014 Ian Knight The Managing Director of AKFS engaged with a reputable Traffic Management Company in the Midlands, Highway Traffic Management (HTM) with his concept of the AKFS Low Floor 3.5t Traffic Management Vehicle. Between Ian and the team at HTM the first prototype of the Drop & Go® was built at our Andover facility based on the Fiat Ducato platform.
In 2014 The first Drop & Go® with fixed rear gantry and detachable side loading ramp was delivered to HTM for extensive testing. After the testing HTM requested a small amount of modifications, once these modifications had been completed the Low floor Drop & Go® Traffic Management Vehicle entered full time service with HTM.

From the initial conception of the design AKFS hasn’t rested on their laurels and have kept developing the design with close contact with Industry for what they would require for a purpose-built low floor traffic management vehicle based on the AlKo Technologies Low Floor Chassis.
In June 2020 HTM took delivery of 4 new LLTMV 5.4.0 Drop & Go® that were modified to meet HTM Ltd operational requirements utilising the New Light Weight LP13 built by Acklea. Find out more about <a href="<https://www.advanced-kfs.co.uk/services/construction-vehicles/drop-and-go/>">Drop & Go®</a>
